J1 Program in the USA
The purpose of the J-1 visa is to promote stronger international partnerships between the people of the United States and other countries through educational and cultural exchange programs. The J-1 internship category was established by the U.S. government to provide foreign university students and young professionals the opportunity to live and work in the United States for a limited period. Programs can last anywhere from three weeks to 18 months. This category allows students and professionals from around the world to enhance their professional skills and gain knowledge of U.S. business practices through internships or training in American companies.
The J-1 visa is a non-immigrant cultural exchange visa issued by the U.S. Department of State.
